Trump's Feast at King Charles' Banquet: A Look at the President's Dinner Plans and the White Tie Dress Code Requirements
King Charles and Queen Camilla Host State Banquet for Donald Trump
King Charles III and Queen Camilla have chosen a special menu for the state banquet in honour of the visit of former US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania. The menu will feature a tribute to the US, alongside four other options.
Earlier today, Trump was officially welcomed by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle. The former President toured the castle with King Charles to review the Guard of Honour.
Trump and Melania will attend the white tie Windsor state banquet, along with King Charles, Queen Camilla, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and other guests. The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, is expected to wear white tie and tails for the occasion.
The state banquet dress code is white tie, the highest formal level of evening style. For males, this includes a black tailcoat, black pants, a white shirt, white tie, and a white waistcoat. For females, the attire consists of floor-length dresses, covered shoulders, gloves, and a tiara (if available).
The flowers on the tables will be seasonal and selected from the gardens of Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park. Following the banquet, the flowers will be donated to Floral Angels, a charity that Queen Camilla supports.
In addition to Trump and Melania, other guests include US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, First Lady Jill Biden, and high-ranking British politicians such as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Notable business executives from US technology and banking companies will also be in attendance, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and BlackRock chairman Larry Fink.
Trump is set to meet with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on Thursday at Chequers. He will also pay a wreath-laying visit to the tomb of the late Queen Elizabeth II in St George's Chapel, Windsor.
During the state banquet, both the US and UK national anthems will be played. Trump will also watch a flypast by the Red Arrows and UK and US F-35 fighter planes on Windsor Castle's east lawn. A bespoke cocktail has been produced for the Windsor state banquet.
The state banquet will attract 160 people in total. It promises to be a grand affair, marking a significant moment in the relationship between the US and the UK.
