Trump Unveils Middle East Peace Plan: Israel to Withdraw from Gaza, Hamas Disarmed
US President Donald Trump has unveiled a Middle East peace plan that includes a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and the disempowerment of Hamas. Israel has the full support of the USA to eliminate the threat from Hamas if they do not agree to the plan.
The plan requires Hamas to release all remaining hostages within 72 hours and hand over remains of other hostages to Israel. Upon agreement, Israel will suspend military operations in the Gaza Strip. A transitional government of 'apolitical' Palestinians and international experts will manage the administration of the Gaza Strip. Israel is to release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1700 prisoners detained in the Gaza Strip.
The plan also involves the deployment of an 'International Stabilization Force' to train Palestinian police and ensure security. The war will end immediately after Israel and Hamas agree to the peace plan, with all hostages, alive or deceased, returned to Israel within 72 hours. Israel will then gradually withdraw its forces from the Gaza Strip. A technocratic transitional committee composed of Palestinians and international experts, overseen by a 'peace council' led by Trump and including figures like Tony Blair, will govern Gaza temporarily. Hamas will be excluded from governance, its military infrastructure destroyed, and cooperative members offered amnesty or allowed to leave. Gaza's water, electricity, and hospitals will be restored, and aid delivered by the UN and international organizations.
The Trump plan does not rule out a Palestinian state but requires reforms from the Palestinian Authority. If Hamas does not agree to the plan, Israel has the full support of the USA to eliminate the threat from Hamas. The plan aims to restore peace and stability to the Gaza Strip and the wider region.
