Trump Unveils Gaza Peace Plan: Hostage Release, Army Withdrawal, Technocrat Government

President Donald Trump has unveiled a plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The scheme involves the swift release of remaining hostages held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. It also includes the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a transitional Palestinian government of technocrats under international supervision.

The plan, which aligns with Israel's conditions for the post-war period, is overseen by the 'Peace Council', led by Trump and involving former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and other heads of state and government. If Hamas does not agree to the plan, Trump promises full support for Israel's action against Hamas. However, Israel is not allowed to annex the Gaza Strip under the plan, and Hamas is not to play any further role in the administration of the Gaza Strip.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes the plan is a crucial step towards ending the war in Gaza and promoting Middle East peace. All parties involved have agreed to the plan except for Hamas, according to Trump. The president expresses optimism about a positive response from Hamas and closeness to a solution.

The plan, if accepted, will see the Gaza Strip governed by a transitional Palestinian government of technocrats under international supervision. It envisions the return of all hostages and the dismantling of Hamas' military capabilities, aligning with Israel's post-war conditions. While Hamas has not yet agreed, Trump's support for Israel's actions if the plan is rejected leaves room for potential progress in the region.
