Trump Unveils Gaza Future Plan: International Oversight, Israeli Withdrawal, Palestinian Authority Return
US President Donald Trump has unveiled a comprehensive plan for the future of Gaza during a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahu to the White House. The proposal, presented on September 29, 2025, outlines a roadmap for Gaza's reconstruction and a gradual Israeli troop withdrawal.
Trump's plan calls for the creation of an 'international transition committee' to oversee Gaza's reconstruction and attract investors. This committee will supervise an administration consisting of qualified Palestinians and international experts. The plan also includes the establishment of a temporary 'international stabilization force', primarily composed of Palestinian police and forces from partner nations, to guarantee internal security as Israeli troops gradually withdraw. Jordan and Egypt will play advisory roles in this force.
The plan ensures that no one will be forced to leave the Gaza Strip, and those who wish to go will be free to do so. It also guarantees that neither Israel nor Hamas will restrict deliveries by the United Nations and the Red Crescent. Upon acceptance of the agreement, aid deliveries will reach a certain minimum level, and infrastructure for essential services will be repaired.
If the Palestinian Authority submits to a 'reform program', it could regain control of the Gaza Strip. Hamas would have 72 hours to release all hostages if the proposal is accepted, followed by the release of Israeli prisoners and the pardoning of certain Hamas members.
Trump's plan, presented alongside Netanjahu, aims to bring stability and reconstruction to Gaza. It involves international oversight, gradual Israeli withdrawal, and the potential return of Palestinian Authority control. The plan also addresses humanitarian concerns and hostage situations, setting out clear conditions for progress.
