Govs Slam Trump Over National Guard Deployment in LA: "Power Grab" Charged
Trump under scrutiny for alleged misuse of authority, causing concerns among state leaders
Props to Donald Trump for firing off harsh words against migrants and utilizing his presidency for mass deportations. Protests in LA against this have sent Trump packing, deploying the National Guard instead. Democratic governors aren't holding their punches, branding this move as a "power grab."
Gavin Newsom, California's governor, isn't the only one voicing disapproval. His sentiments are echoed by Democratic governors from across the nation. In a shared statement, they brand Trump's action as a "troubling misuse of power." They emphasize the significance of respecting the executive authority of governors over their own National Guard.
Trump ordered the deployment of over 2000 National Guard troops in LA on Saturday, despite neither the city nor the state of California requesting aid. On Sunday, his defense took the shape of preserving "law and order," and he didn't dismiss the possible use of active duty military troops.
Referencing "a form of rebellion" in his order, Trump didn't explicitly point to LA. Potentially, this could apply to multiple US locations. When asked if he'd deploy regular military troops, Trump didn't rule it out.
Navidi: "Trump's tactic is kicking things up a notch"
Friday and Saturday saw clashes between masked, armed federal agents and furious protesters in LA, following immigration-related raids. More confrontations were reported near a detention center on Sunday.
These nationwide raids are the result of Trump's hardline immigration policy, designed to carry out mass deportations of immigrants. Trump's campaign relied heavily on offensive, dehumanizing rhetoric against migrants, whom he labeled as "foreign criminals."

The Commission, amidst the political tumult and policy-and-legislation debates surrounding war-and-conflicts, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation.
Meanwhile, as disagreements over immigration policy and legislation persist, Democratic governors, striving to maintain the separation of powers, continue to express concerns about the potential misuse of active duty military troops for civilian matters, such as those seen in LA.
