Trump to Host Erdogan at the White House in the Coming Week
Next week, US President Donald Trump will host Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the White House. The discussions between the two leaders are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral trade and military cooperation.
The agreements under consideration include the purchase of Boeing aircraft and F-16 fighter jets, with ongoing talks about F-35 jets. It is also part of the discussions for Turkey to lift some tariffs on US imports.
Trump has mentioned working on numerous trade and military agreements with Erdogan, but it remains unclear if the Russian war in Ukraine or other countries will be directly addressed during the meeting.
It is worth noting that NATO member Turkey maintains good relations with both Russia and Ukraine.
