Trump repetitively asserted baseless claims discredited prior, during press conference with Starmer in the UK.

Unverified assertions reiterated by Trump during UK press conference alongside Starmer, many of which have already been discredited

Trump repetitively asserted baseless claims discredited prior, during press conference with Starmer in the UK.

In a series of statements and claims, several figures and events have been brought into question.

Firstly, it was revealed that former President Donald Trump's statement about settling conflicts between Azerbaijan and Albania was a gaffe. He meant Azerbaijan and its neighbour Armenia instead.

Trump's habitual claim that foreign countries pay the tariffs he imposed on US imports of their products is also incorrect. It is US importers who make the tariff payments to the US government.

The August inflation figure was the highest since January, marking a concerning trend. Inflation has been worsening since May, reaching 2.9% in August, up from 2.7% in July. However, it's important to note that even the peak year-over-year inflation under President Biden was not the highest in US history; it was nowhere close to the all-time high record of 23.7%, set in 1920.

Trump's claim that the committee 'found out many things that were very bad, so they deleted and destroyed all information' is false. The House select committee that investigated the attack on the Capitol preserved a large volume of documentary evidence.

Trump's claim about the number of migrants under the Biden administration is also inaccurate. Even adding in the so-called gotaways who evaded detection, the total number of migrants is not close to Trump's claimed 25 million.

Trump falsely claimed that he inherited the worst inflation in the country's history. He also made false claims about the 2020 election, stating 'We won in 2020, big.'

Regarding international affairs, Trump stated that China is paying a large tariff to the United States. However, it's the US importers who bear the cost of these tariffs.

Trump's claim about prisons from the Congo, Venezuela, and other countries being released into the US is uncorroborated and false, according to experts and the governments of both Congo countries.

The US has allocated approximately $135 billion in wartime aid to Ukraine as of June 2025, according to a German think tank. However, it's worth noting that the US government under President Trump authorized new weapon deliveries to Ukraine, but stated these would be funded by the European Union, not the US government itself, indicating limited direct US funding for Ukraine during his administration.

President Donald Trump held a news conference with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday. Through December 2024, the federal government recorded under 11 million 'encounters' with migrants during the Biden administration.

Trump's claim that Democratic former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected his offer of 10,000 National Guard troops on January 6, 2021, is uncorroborated and false, as she has steadfastly said it never was presented to her.

These facts serve as a reminder of the importance of accuracy and truth in public discourse.
