Trump Praise: Middleton's Glowing, Healthy and Stunning Beauty Impressed President Trump
During a two-day visit to the UK, President Trump was the guest of honour at a State Banquet at Windsor Castle. The banquet in St George's Hall marked the finale of the first day of his visit.
Victoria Murphy, a contributing editor at Town & Country and a frequent contributor to Good Morning America, reported on the British Royal Family since 2010 and had the privilege of interviewing Prince Harry. She was also the author of 'The Queen: A Life in Pictures', a book released in 2021.
King Charles expressed his pleasure at welcoming President Trump and Melania to Windsor. The King, who has a rich history with the U.S., referenced his 1970 visit to the U.S. and his interactions with Tricia Nixon during the visit. He joked about the media's interest in his potential marriage to Tricia Nixon, the daughter of President Richard Nixon.
President Trump praised Kate, the Princess of Wales, describing her as 'So radiant and so healthy and so beautiful.' He also expressed his admiration for Prince William, saying he believed he would have 'unbelievable success in the future.'
The King and the Princess of Wales sat on either side of President Trump during the banquet. President Trump spoke glowingly of King Charles's achievements. In response, King Charles joked about the quality of British soil for golf courses.
The focus of the first day was on pageantry and ceremonies. Thursday will mark a shift in focus from pageantry to politics during President Trump's visit. On the second day, the focus will shift to politics, with President Trump visiting Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers. The host of the next event with President Trump at the Chequers dining table is not publicly known.
King Charles also mentioned the shared history between the U.S. and the U.K., stating, 'The ocean may still divide us, but in so many other ways we are now the closest of kin.' President Trump, in his speech, referred to his visits to British soil as 'the first and maybe that's going to be the last time.'
Victoria Murphy reported that President Trump delivered his speech after the King's speech. She also noted that this visit was a significant event in the British Royal Family's calendar. The visit will undoubtedly be remembered for its mix of pageantry, politics, and the warm interactions between the Royal Family and the President.
