In a recent LA 2028 Olympic press conference, former President Donald Trump was asked about his potential successor for the 2028 presidential election. Trump responded by suggesting that Vice President J.D. Vance, his running mate from the 2024 election, could be a strong contender.

"I think most likely... In all fairness, he's the vice president," Trump said, referring to Vance. He went on to say that Vance would be "probably favored" at this point for the 2028 presidential election.

Vance, during a sitdown with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, stated that he is not focused on the election in 2026, much less one two years after that. He believes that if they do a good job for the American people, the politics will take care of itself.

Trump also mentioned Marco Rubio as a potential ally for Vance. Rubio, a former Republican presidential candidate and senator from Florida, has not yet announced his intentions for the 2028 election.

Vice President Vance has not made any official statements regarding his potential candidacy for the 2028 presidential election. As of now, he remains focused on his role as vice president under President Trump's second term.

Trump's comments about Vance as a potential successor have sparked discussions and speculations within political circles. Trump believes that there are "incredible people" who might run for the presidency in 2028, but it remains to be seen who will ultimately emerge as the Republican Party's nominee.

This ongoing discussion about the potential successor for the 2028 presidential election underscores the continued influence of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance within the Republican Party.
