President Donald Trump has announced plans for a series of events to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, one of which includes hosting a UFC mixed martial arts event at the White House grounds next year.

The UFC event, which is expected to take place on the White House's South Lawn around July 4th, 2026, will be a full-scale championship fight. UFC CEO Dana White, a close friend and supporter of President Trump, will be responsible for building the setup for the event.

Trump praised White during his announcement, calling him "great, one of a kind." White has been a long-time supporter of Trump and has spoken at several of his rallies and events. The UFC event is estimated to host between 20,000 to 25,000 spectators.

In addition to the UFC event, Trump plans to host an athletic competition called the 'Patriot Games.' This event will be helmed by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The Patriot Games will feature top high school athletes from all 50 states and will be nationally televised.

Trump also announced the launch of the "year-long Great American State Fair," which will travel to state fairs across the country before culminating with a festival at the National Mall next year.

Trump has been a regular attendee at UFC fighting events in recent years, with his most recent attendance being at UFC 314 in April at Miami's Kaseya Center. Elon Musk and several cabinet members were also in attendance at UFC 314.

The events are part of a broader series of festivities titled "America250," which will include special events at national parks, battlefields, and historic sites across the country. The specific details of the proposed UFC event at the White House grounds are still under development.
