Trump firmly dismisses the possibility of deploying American troops to Ukraine as a means of ensuring peace.

In a significant development, President Donald Trump has proposed a new framework for security guarantees for Ukraine without the deployment of U.S. troops. This proposal, supported by several European nations, focuses on legally binding and multidimensional assurances to prevent future Russian aggression.

During an interview with Fox News, Trump reiterated his agreement with the presence of European military forces in Ukrainian territory, but ruled out the deployment of American troops as part of security guarantees in a future peace agreement with Moscow.

The potential security guarantees, as proposed by Trump and European nations, aim to provide concrete and effective protection for Ukraine while avoiding direct U.S. troop involvement. These guarantees are envisioned to include military, diplomatic, legal, and other levels of security.

Trump has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts, including meetings with both Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to broker a peace deal predicated on these guarantees. Despite Putin's reluctance to agree to a bilateral meeting, Trump remains hopeful for direct talks and has indicated potential actions if such talks do not materialize within weeks.

U.S. officials, alongside European counterparts, are working on refining these security guarantees, which Zelensky described as requiring concrete and effective terms. The Ukrainian President has emphasized the need for these guarantees to be legally binding and multidimensional, providing a robust and effective deterrent against future Russian aggression.

The Russian military offensive in Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24, 2022, is considered the most serious security crisis in Europe since World War II. This crisis has prompted international agencies to call for immediate action to ensure Ukraine's security and stability.

In the White House meeting, no agreement was reached on the deployment of troops on the ground. Trump, however, stated that he is ready to help Ukraine, notably through the provision of air support. One of the European leaders at the White House on Monday proposed giving "another one or two months" before the Zelensky-Putin meeting, which Trump classified as counterproductive.

Trump's main objective is to organize a new summit with the presence of Zelensky and Putin. He stated that the meeting should be held "as soon as possible." Trump believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is tired of the current situation and that everyone is tired. Several European countries have shown willingness to send troops to Ukraine to meet the security guarantees demanded by Zelensky.
