Today, Windsor Castle played host to a grand spectacle as King Charles III welcomed President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for their second state visit. The day was filled with military pomp and royal ceremony, making it an unprecedented event in living memory.

Upon their arrival, the Band of the Household Cavalry serenaded the Trumps with a melodious tune, donned in state dress uniforms adorned with pure gold thread. As they disembarked from the plane in the Walled Garden of the Windsor estate, the President and his wife were greeted by a warm welcome from King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The Sovereign's Escort for the carriage procession consisted of 80 soldiers from the House Cavalry Mounted Regiment, and approximately 120 horses were involved in the ceremonial welcome. The processional route was lined by 22 half-companies of personnel from various branches of the military.

The Life Guards and Blues and Royals donned their respective uniforms for the procession, and the State Colours of the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, and Scots Guards were on parade for the first time at such an occasion. The military ceremonial for President Trump's visit was indeed a sight to behold.

As the carriages passed through the castle's George IV Gate at 12.15pm, Mr. Trump and the King took part in a carriage procession through the Windsor estate, inspecting a Royal Guard of Honour in the castle grounds. The Trumps were also expected to pass close to Frogmore House and Frogmore Cottage during the procession.

The Princess of Wales extended a warm welcome to the Trumps, smiling as she greeted them. She walked side by side with Mr. Trump, chatting amicably, while William was heard to say, "This is my father" to the President as they approached the King. Mr. Trump told the Princess of Wales "you're so beautiful" at the start of the trip.

William and Kate welcomed the Trumps, and the group moved towards Victoria House, where the Trumps will be staying. The renovation of Victoria House, which took place during the visit, was financed by the UK government as part of the preparations for the state visit. As they moved towards their accommodation, the President held his wife's hand.

King Charles gestured towards the President before the two men shook hands, marking the beginning of their official engagements. The day was filled with historic moments, making it a memorable visit for all those present.
