No Call, No Peace: Trump's Cool Shoulder Towards Musk - "I Wish Him Well"
Trump expresses well-wishes to Musk
It seems reconciliation may not be on the cards between Trump and Musk anytime soon. While the President has kept his insults in check, he's given the tech billionaire the cold shoulder. He's got too much on his plate for a chat, and the subject doesn't quite pique his interest.
Following the public rift between tech mogul Elon Musk and President Donald Trump, the U.S. Commander-in-Chief has made it clear that there's no hurry to patch things up. He's too occupied dealing with American and global issues to engage with Musk. "I wish him well," he said, en route to Air Force One. Efforts to mend fences have been initiated, but Trump's not really feeling it. He's more focused on tackling the nation's and the world's woes.

When questioned if he contemplated revoking the government contracts of Musk's companies like Tesla and SpaceX, Trump was evasive. He'll weigh the options, considering what's fair for the country and Musk. Trump had hinted on his Truth Social platform on Thursday that he could save billions by scrapping orders and subsidies for Musk.
The power struggle between Musk and Trump escalated after months of close cooperation. The dispute ignited over a tax and budget law championed by Trump, which Musk vehemently opposed. Musk is advocating for drastic cuts in spending.
Public Insults: Throwing Shades
The president threw caution to the wind on Thursday, responding to Musk's barrage of criticisms. He labelled Musk as being "a little unhinged." Musk then let loose a string of harsh remarks about Trump on his X platform, prompting Trump to fire back in kind. Among other things, Musk proposed establishing a new centrist party on X, allowing users to vote on the idea. He also suggested that Trump would never have securely won the presidency without his backing.
More recently, a confidant of Musk hinted that the Tesla CEO's anger had subsided and that an attempt to mend fences with Trump could be in store. In the past few hours, Musk hasn't attacked Trump personally on X, but his criticism of the U.S. president's tax plan remains. Again, Musk called for the establishment of a new centrist political party in the U.S.
Musk had contributed over $250 million to Trump's campaign and was once regarded as a trusted Republican. Until the end of May, he led Trump's cost-cutting committee, Doge, which executed deep cuts and job losses as part of its mandate.

In the shadows of the heated animosity between Trump and Musk, the U.S. government scored a legal victory over Doge's access rights. The Supreme Court granted temporary access rights to sensitive data from the Social Security Administration (SSA) to employees of the cost-cutting committee. A lower court had previously restrained this access.
The case is expected to drag on – even though employees of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) now have access to the data temporarily. The Supreme Court's ruling was supported by six of the nine justices, while the remaining three dissented. The data in question includes the Social Security number, birth dates, account numbers, addresses, and in some instances, health data.
The government also emerged triumphant in another case before the Supreme Court, where plaintiffs sought greater transparency from the cost-cutting committee Doge. The conservative justices overruled a decision by a lower court obliging Doge to disclose certain information, including internal emails.

I'm not going to say that politics is a boring topic, especially when it comes to the ongoing feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, but it can definitely get heated, as demonstrated by their recent public insults on general-news platforms like Twitter and Truth Social. The power struggle between these two titans, once allies, has escalated over issues such as tax laws and government contracts, with Musk advocating for drastic cuts in spending and Trump hinting at revoking Musk's companies' government contracts. Despite efforts to mend fences, it seems that Trump's focus remains on tackling national and international issues rather than patching up their relationship.
