"A Historic First!" Trump Stoked Over the Inaugural American Pope
Trump Expresses Joy over Prospect of the "Initial American Papal Figure"
US President Donald Trump expressed his excitement and pride upon hearing the news of Pope Leo XIV's election. In a recent post on Truth Social, he claimed, "It's a bloody big deal and an absolute honor for the Yankee Doodle Dandy that our home-grown boy, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, has bagged the title of the first American Pope!" He's eagerly anticipating a sit-down with the new Holy Father. "This is about to be an unparalleled historical chapter," he stressed.
Fun fact, it's been almost 250 years since a cardinal hailing from the US has snagged the coveted Papal seat, ever since the old US Declaration of Independence was signed. News outlets report that Prevost, who boasts dual citizenship with Peru, has been a faithful servant in the South American nation for many years and was once ordained as a bishop there.
Trump was last in Rome to pay his respects at the late Pope Francis' funeral a couple of weeks prior. Unfortunately, his visit triggered a wave of harsh criticism from the Catholics following the circulation of a controversial AI-generated image of him donning a Pope's cassock and giving the ol' razzle dazzle. Seems like Trump's trying to turn over a new leaf and steer clear of any more brouhahas.
