Trump's speech marks his inaugural address to college graduates in his second term.

On Thursday night, President Donald Trump graced the University of Alabama with his presence ahead of their commencement ceremonies on Friday. In his rousing address, Trump encouraged the students not to take the easy route of self-pity and victimhood, instead, urging them to embrace their potential as winners.

The special event also featured remarks from the university's president, Stuart R. Bell, and former Alabama Crimson Tide coach, Nick Saban. Trump shared his triumphs during the first 100 days of his presidency, managed a few choice jabs at his political opponents, and championed the graduating class of the "Golden Age of America."

Trump took a hard stance against courts intervening in his duties, expressed dismay at providing due process to illegal immigrants, and raised eyebrows with his remarks about Democrats defying directives to keep men out of women's sports. But his core message centered on the resilience and determination of the graduating class, urging them to defy the odds and emerge victorious.

"Empty the narrative of self-pity, graduates. Picture yourselves as victors, not victims. In this modern era, too many young people have wallowed in self-pity, blaming others, seething with anger. Avoid the trap, folks. In America, we reject the notion that anyone is born a victim. Our heroes are those who take control of their own destiny, create their own luck, and shape their own future, bucking the trends and surmounting adversity," Trump exclaims.

In addition to his political banter, Trump imparted beneficial advice to the graduates. He reminded them of his landmark election victory and encouraged them to persevere through challenges, always rising to the occasion.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I address the 2025 graduating class from the esteemed Alabama Crimson Tide. Your imminent journey will pen the following chapter of the American saga, and it won't be crafted by the Harvard Crimson. It will be penned by you, the Crimson Tide! Here, in the cradle of strength and triumph, you learn to fight, fight, fight until you win, win, win!" Trump says, his voice filled with passion.

The event marked the first time a sitting president addressed the University of Alabama, a move that stirred controversy among students and critics. The university's College Democrats, outspoken opponents of the president, organized a "Tide Against Trump" rally that featured Beto O'Rourke and Doug Jones. Simultaneously, conservative students donned pro-Trump attire, expressing their support for the president.
