Trump Asserts Fox News Polls Are biased and Inaccurate

President Donald Trump vented his frustration on Thursday after a Fox News Channel poll indicated a division among Americans concerning his immigration policy. He accused the network's polling, which he considers flawed and politically skewed, of underestimating his support and misrepresenting public opinion.

In a post on Truth Social, the president lashed out: "The Crooked FoxNews Polls got the Election WRONG, I won by much more than they said I would, and have been biased against me for years. They are always wrong and negative."

Reiterating his stance, he expressed: "It's why MAGA HATES FoxNews, even though their anchors are GREAT. This has gone on for years, but they never change the incompetent polling company that does their work."

Fox News released the poll on Wednesday, revealing Trump's overall approval rating as 46%, with 54% disapproving. His numbers on border security were better, with 53% approving and 46% disapproving. Yet, when voters were asked about immigration, Trump's numbers dipped again with 46% approving and 53% disapproving.

Remarkably, Trump's lowest numbers were on the topic of 'inflation' with 64% disapproving of his handling, while just 34% approved. However, the president took offense at this rating on the border.

"Now a FoxNews poll comes out this morning giving me a little more than 50% at the Border, and yet the Border is miraculously perfect, NOBODY WAS ABLE TO COME IN LAST MONTH," he wrote. "60,000 people came in with Sleepy Joe in the same month last year."

Trump's outburst came as the world awaited the US's response to Iran amid ongoing bombing campaigns. The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that Trump had approved an attack plan against Iran, although a final order had yet to be issued as of Thursday. The US did not engage in the week-long war between Israel and Iran overnight.

"The Wall Street Journal has No Idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran!" Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

Additionally, Trump vented his frustration toward Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, whom he appointed, after the Fed decided not to reduce interest rates as the president demanded on Wednesday. Trump criticized Powell, claiming he was "one of the dumbest, and most destructive, people in Government."

This incident underscores President Trump's ongoing allegations of media bias, including faith in Fox News, and his disdain for pollsters, as he believes that Fox News uses an "incompetent polling company" and produces "crooked" polls that have previously underestimated his electoral performance and negatively affected his public image[1][2][5]. In response, Trump has introduced his own social media platform, Truth Social, to bypass traditional media outlets and directly communicate with his supporters.

  1. Despite repeatedly accusing Fox News of bias and inaccuracy in their polls, President Donald Trump still expressed dissatisfaction with a recent Fox News poll indicating a division among Americans concerning his immigration policy.
  2. In addition to his criticism of Fox News, President Trump also voiced his disdain for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell following the Fed's decision not to reduce interest rates as he had demanded.
  3. Amid ongoing bombing campaigns by Iran, President Trump's outburst on Truth Social was not only directed towards Fox News and Jerome Powell, but also covered his ongoing allegations of media bias and his belief that the portrayal of his policy on war-and-conflicts and politics has been skewed in general-news outlets.
