Trump declares intent to collaborate with Pakistan and India in addressing the contentious Kashmir issue.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, former US President Donald Trump praised the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan, commending their 'solid and resolute leadership' for averting further conflict. He also hinted at being open to collaborate with both nations to tackle the Kashmir issue.

He declared, "I am damn proud of the grit, intellect, and resilience of India and Pakistan for realizing it was high time to put an end to the ongoing hostilities that could have led to the demise of countless innocent lives."

Trump also emphasized the role the US played in facilitating the truce, boasting, "I'm digging the fact that the US helped you both achieve this epic and heroic peace agreement."

He further hinted at plans to boost trade with both nations and expressed his readiness to get involved in the Kashmir issue. "I'll do my best to work alongside you both, hoping that, after a millennium, a resolution can be reached regarding Kashmir," he stated.

The post ended on a blessing note for the leaders of both nations: "May God bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done!!!"

Notably, this is the second time in a short span that Trump has spoken about the India-Pakistan ceasefire.

On Saturday, he announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a "full and immediate ceasefire," following mutual attacks on each other's military bases.

Insights:Trump's offer of mediation and claims of US mediation have stirred up diplomatic friction between the US and India, with India denying any direct US involvement. While mediation could potentially reduce tensions and initiate negotiations, India has traditionally been reluctant to embrace third-party intervention in the Kashmir dispute. Trump's economic engagement proposal could have positive economic implications, but its success depends on both nations' willingness to engage despite lingering geopolitical tensions.
