According to the US readout, Trump described the call as 'very productive.' However, the Chinese readout struck a starkly different tone, with Xi Jinping urging Washington to avoid restrictive trade measures during the call.

The TikTok deal, if made, would shift TikTok's US operations into American hands, aiming to avoid the app being banned in the US. This comes after Ed Markey, a US Senator, called on media companies to stand up to Trump's FCC.

Meanwhile, in a move to address fair pay for creators, Medium announced plans to use AI to pay creators more fairly.

In another international development, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia strengthened their ties with a defense deal. Exxon's CEO expressed pessimism about a Trump breakthrough on Europe's ESG rules.

Looking ahead, both leaders have agreed to meet at the upcoming APEC Summit in South Korea, and China has also agreed to meet with the US early next year. Ramaswamy, a political figure, received the endorsement of the Teamsters.
