Trump: Ceasefire in Iran-Israel Conflict Officially Holds
Iran-Israel conflict halted: Trump declares 'truce' in place - Trump announces: Iran-Israel conflict truce is currently active
Here's a lowdown on the recent developments between Israel and Iran, straight up and no-nonsense.
According to the word of Donald Trump himself, both Israel and Iran have agreed to a truce. Contrary to official confirmations from the two nations, the Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghtchi, hinted at halting attacks against Israel if Israel reciprocates.
On a Tuesday morning, Iran took it a step further with rocket attacks on Israel. As reported by the Iranian state broadcaster Irib, another "fifth wave" of attacks was launched, just before 06.00 CET.
Tragically, four individuals lost their lives in a residential building in Beersheba due to an Iranian rocket attack. This unfortunate incident was reported by an AFP news agency journalist during a search operation by the Magen David Adom rescue service in the morning.
Israel initiated heavy attacks on Iran on June 13, focused on bombing nuclear facilities and military installations in the country. Iran responded by launching rockets and drones against Israel.
Things took a turn as the US entered the scene between Israel and Iran overnight on Sunday and attacked Iran's nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natans, and Isfahan using B-2 combat jets and GBU-57 bunker-busting bombs. There have been ongoing accusations by western nations that Iran has been pursuing nuclear weapons for years, while Teheran strongly denies this.
