Trade Pact Under Threat? - Trump and China Exchanging Verbal Aggression - Trump and China Engage in Dispute
The Heated Exchange: US-China Trade Deal on the Brink
In the midst of the ongoing skirmish between economic heavyweights, China and the USA, both parties have launched fresh barbs. This spat erupts after President Donald Trump claimed China failed to honor the terms of their late-May agreement in Geneva, concerning the trade dispute. Subsequently, Beijing lashed back, slamming the USA for its escalating restrictions on AI chips, chip design software, and visas for Chinese students.
Trump's team accused China of playing dirty, while the Chinese Ministry of Commerce retorted that the US side was finger-pointing without examining its own actions vigilantly.

The past few weeks have seen a rollercoaster in US-China relations over the trade dispute. Reaching a compromise in mid-May, both nations agreed to scale down tariffs for a 90-day period, with the U.S. dropping tariffs on Chinese imports from 145% to 30%, and China lowering tariffs on U.S. goods from 125% to 10%.
At the time, Trump celebrated China’s promised opened doorstep but, in recent days, has hardened his stance against China. He claimed on his Truth Social platform that China has skipped out on the deal, stating, "Sadly, China has completely shattered its pledge with us." He didn’t elaborate on the nature of the alleged breach.
