Donald Trump Allegedly Foiled Israeli Plan to Assassinate Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
Trump allegedly thwarted a planned assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Hear it straight: The U.S. President, Donald J. Trump, is said to have blocked an Israeli operation intending to eliminate Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, according to government sources. "We discovered that the Israelis were eyeing an assault on Iran's supreme leader," confided an anonymous official. "President Trump was firmly against it, and we made it clear to the Israelis to stand down," added the source[2][3][4].
Politics 101: Escalation with Israel: "Let Iran Figure It Out"Back in the day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ducked a question about potential plans to whack Khamenei during a Fox News chat. "I ain't spillin' the beans," Netanyahu said, with a grin. "But lemme tell ya: We'll do what we gotta do, and I reckon the States knows what's good for the States," he added[6].
On Friday, Israel's National Security Adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, stated there are "no active plans" to pop Khamenei or his peeps[1].
Politics 2.0: Iran Goes on the Offensive: Strikes on Israel Ignite FirestormSince Friday, Israel's been squaring off with Iran, targeting nuclear and military facilities in Iran[7]. The army chief Mohammed Bagheri and the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Hussein Salami, bit the dust, along with almost the entire Revolutionary Guards' air force top brass[7]. Sunday, Netanyahu announced the demise of the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence service chief Mohammed Kasemi[7]. Iran acknowledged the deadly attack on Kasemi that very evening.
Iran's fought back with drones and missiles since Friday, striking Israel. Deaths on both sides are mounting[7]. The tussle between Israel and Iran's been going on for three days straight, as of Sunday[7].
