Trump Weighs In On Global Meetings

In a recent interview, Donald Trump dropped a hint about a potential meeting in Saudi Arabia, remarking, "It's probably happening soon." Fox News was the broadcast platform for this revealing chat. The U.S. President's itinerary, according to the White House, includes stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE from May 13 to 16.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, hinted at a planned meeting of leaders during an interview with French Le Point. Peskov suggested the meeting would be fruitful.

When asked about a potential encounter with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during the pope's funeral, Trump responded, "I'm not sure if that's going to happen." He did express hopes for a truce between Russia and Ukraine, adding, "I believe Russia is on board. I think we have a deal with Russia. We just need Zelensky's approval."

Trump elaborated, stating that negotiations with Ukraine had initially seemed trouble-free. He also commended the recent talks in London, acknowledging that while the meeting was initially slated for ministers, it was eventually downgraded to an expert-level affair. U.S. Presidential special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kelleher, represented Washington at this meeting, describing the discussions as positive.
