Trump advocates that Obama, Comey, and Biden fabricated the Epstein documentation
In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, former President Donald Trump has leveled accusations against three prominent figures, accusing them of fabricating documents related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Trump alleged that former President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, and former FBI Director James Comey conspired to create the Epstein files as a means to deflect criticism over the Justice Department's slow and limited release of records related to the Epstein case.
However, Trump's claims lack any concrete evidence to support them. It is worth noting that James Comey left the FBI in 2017, two years before Epstein's 2019 arrest, while Obama was no longer in office by that time. During Biden's administration, the Department of Justice successfully prosecuted Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, with no indication that Biden or his White House staff interfered or fabricated anything related to the files.
The Justice Department has faced criticism for not releasing many of the anticipated documents related to Epstein’s sex trafficking case. While some files have been made public, much of the material remains sealed, leading to continued controversy and speculation. The Attorney General has been conducting reviews and briefings but has not fully disclosed all documents or details as of now.
As the public and political pressure mounts for the full release of these files, Trump has praised the Attorney General for handling the Epstein files well. However, his attempts to blame President Biden for the economy's current state have been met with scepticism, as the economy's struggles predate Biden's presidency.
In a separate development, Trump stated that he was not informed by former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi that he was cited in the Epstein documents; she only provided a briefing. This statement comes as the Trump administration faces increasing criticism for its failure to release more information about Epstein and his alleged client list.
