Truck driver at Allenby Crossing brutally slays two Israeli Defense Forces personnel.

In a shocking incident on Thursday, a Jordanian citizen, who was employed by the Jordanian military to transport aid trucks from Jordan to the Gaza Strip, carried out a deadly attack at the Allenby Crossing on the Jordanian border.

The attacker, after arriving with a truck loaded with humanitarian aid, shot and stabbed two Israeli soldiers, Lt. Col. Yitzhak Harosh and Sgt. Oran Hershko, before being neutralized by security forces.

Lt. Col. (Res.) Yitzhak Harosh, aged 68, from Jerusalem, was an officer in the Civil Administration's Reserve Unit 309. Sgt. Oran Hershko, aged 20, from Tel Mond, was a foreign forces liaison NCO in the International Cooperation Division.

The initial investigation suggests the terrorist began to stab the two Israeli citizens after his gun jammed. Paramedic Bosmat Lubiner and MDA EMT Amit Weiss administered initial medical treatment to the two unconscious men at the scene, but unfortunately, they were later pronounced dead.

Following the attack, IDF troops encircled Jericho. An Allenby Bridge security guard later arrived and neutralized the attacker.

This attack is a tragic reminder of a similar shooting incident that occurred at the Allenby Crossing a year ago, resulting in the death of Yochanan Shchori, Yuri Birnbaum, and Adrian Marcelo Podsmesser.

In a separate incident, a terrorist was sentenced to 48 years in prison for wounding seven Jews. The murder of Sarah Mendelson was laid to rest in a separate event. The IDF also destroyed the homes of two terrorists who murdered Yehonatan Deutsch in a previous incident.

Aid trucks do not undergo inspection at the Allenby Crossing due to an agreement with the Jordanians. The attacker reached the border crossing from the Jordanian side, driving a truck that was meant to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims during this difficult time. The Israeli authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
