PHILIPPINES FACING RAINY DAYS DUE TO ITCZ AND EASTERLIES

Get ready for some rainy days, folks! According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), various parts of the country will experience rains due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the easterlies.

In their 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA shared that Mindanao and Eastern Visayas are under the watch as the ITCZ is expected to bring overcast skies and scattered rain showers, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. The risk of flash floods or landslides is high in these areas thanks to the potential for moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Batanes and Cagayan will face similar weather conditions due to the easterlies. While the risk is still present, the severity of rainfall may not reach the levels experienced in ITCZ-affected areas.

For residents in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected due to the easterlies. Though the danger of flash flooding is lower compared to the ITCZ-hit regions, severe thunderstorms could still pose a threat.

Elsewhere in the Philippines, extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and rough seas, while the rest of the archipelago will see light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

Beware of the weather, folks!

Be cautious, especially in flood-prone areas, as the presence of La Niña conditions in the tropical Pacific may lead to increased rainfall, putting vulnerable regions at risk of flash floods and rain-triggered landslides. Safety first!

In preparation for the upcoming classes, students are encouraged to carry rain gear like umbrellas with them to protect themselves during the rainy days.

Stay safe and dry, everyone!

When weather advisories are released, it's crucial to pay attention to potentially hazardous conditions, such as flash floods, especially in at-risk areas like Manila, due to the current weather-forecasting predictions with the presence of La Niña. Ensure you carry rain gear for the coming days to protect yourself from the weather.
