Tropical Depression Kalmaegi Nears Asia with Heavy Winds and Rough Seas

Tropical Depression Kalmaegi, currently brewing in the South China Sea, is set to bring strong winds and rough seas to the region. The storm is expected to make a rapid and powerful crossing into the Asia sea area around the morning of November 5, 2025.

As of the latest reports, Kalmaegi was spotted at 14.0 degrees north latitude and 105.0 degrees east longitude, around 121 kilometres northwest of Stung Treng, Cambodia. The depression is also about 920 kilometres northeast of Tumpat, Kelantan. Weather experts have tracked Kalmaegi moving west at a speed of 35 kilometres per hour, with maximum wind speeds reaching 62 kilometres per hour.

With Kalmaegi's predicted path and strength, residents and mariners in the South China Sea are advised to prepare for potential impacts. Coastal areas and those at sea should stay alert for updates and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
