Troisdorf Police Operation Nets 100+ Violations, Launches Criminal Investigations

On October 28, police in the Rhein-Sieg district conducted a large-scale public safety operation in Troisdorf. Over 100 officers were deployed, including federal police, customs officials, and local authorities. The day saw numerous violations and several criminal investigations launched.

In the pedestrian zone, specialists advised residents about pickpocketing risks and safe e-bike use. Around 40 people sought advice. Commercial inspections resulted in around 60 violations, including breaches of youth protection and non-smoking laws. Traffic enforcement was strict, with over 30 speeding fines and 26 citations for illegal mobile phone use while driving. One driver showed signs of drug use and was prohibited from continuing their journey, with a blood sample taken.

Over 80 illegal parking violations were documented, with additional penalties for expired vehicle inspections. At Troisdorf’s bus station, over 2,300 passengers were checked, revealing 127 cases of missing or invalid tickets. A presumably stolen bicycle was recovered, sparking a separate criminal investigation. Additionally, another driver was found to be unlicensed, driving an unregistered car with incorrect license plates. This led to the car being impounded and criminal proceedings initiated.
