Unfiltered Take: "Adolescence" Nets Three Gotham Awards, Remaining Shocker Snubbed

Child killings drama clinches three awards at the Gotham Awards - Triumphant serial killer chronicle bags three Gotham Awards out of four nominations
Since its March 2025 debut on Netflix, "Adolescence" has been a goddamned sensation -- and now, it's racking up the accolades. At the Gotham Awards TV shindig on June 2, 2025, this Brit-made series bagged three out of four available trophies.
The show was crowned Best Miniseries by the Gotham TV Awards jury. Actor Stephen Graham took home gold in the gender-neutral category for Best Lead Role in a Miniseries, playing the old man whose 13-year-old boy murdered a classmate. The guy also co-wrote "Adolescence."
Triple Crown for "Adolescence"
Kudos also went to the young murderer actor, Owen Cooper, who shared Best Supporting Role with Jenny Slate from "Dying for Sex." Sadly, Erin Doherty came away empty-handed -- she was nominated for Best Supporting Role as a psychologist in episode three of "Adolescence."
Held for the second time on Monday, the Gotham TV Awards got a spinoff from the original Gotham Awards, which have dishonored every year since 1991. Originally, the jury prizes covered films and TV, but in 2024, organizers split series and docs from traditional TV and streamers.
Unlike the Emmys or Golden Globes, the Gotham TV Awards only recognize new productions. Best comedy series went to "The Studio," created and starring Seth Rogen. In the drama category, the hospital show "The Pitt" stood tall.
