Trinamool Leader Brutally Murdered on Camera While on a Bike, Attacked with a Sickle in Bengal
In West Bengal's Hooghly district, a tragic incident took place on Wednesday as Pintu Chakraborty, a prominent panchayat committee member and businessman, was brutally murdered. The Trinamool Congress leader was attacked at an intersection, and the incident was captured on CCTV footage.
According to the police investigation, the suspect in this case is Bishwanath Das, a local strongman in the area. It is alleged that Das had a property dispute with Chakraborty, leading him to hire two contract killers from North 24 Parganas to carry out the murder. The police have confirmed that Das paid these contract killers Rs 3 lakh for the heinous act[1].
The CCTV footage shows two men approaching Chakraborty from behind, one of them attacking him from behind, hitting him near the neck thrice. Despite Chakraborty's attempts to shield himself, the attacker continued to hack at his neck area. After the initial attack, Chakraborty fell to the ground along with his bike. Two other men then stepped out, causing the attacker to stop and point a weapon at them[1].
Witnesses have confirmed the involvement of the arrested individuals, and three people have been taken into custody in connection with Chakraborty's murder. After the attack, Chakraborty sat up and held his head, while the other two men stepped forward to help him. However, he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital[1].
The police have ruled out a political angle to Chakraborty's murder, attributing it instead to the local dispute involving Bishwanath Das. Despite the tragic turn of events, the community is hopeful that justice will be served, and the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
