TRIMET Aluminium SE's 'Route 66' project has concluded successfully, providing professional opportunities and social integration for refugees. The project, which included integral internships, entry-level qualifications, and daily support, aimed to help 66 refugees. Mayor Thomas Kufen praised the project's success at the '66 DANKEN – EIN FEST DER INTEGRATION' event on September 22, 2025.

The project, launched by TRIMET, has seen 56 participants complete their training and join the company as skilled professionals. Another 14 are currently in training. The project's success is a testament to TRIMET's commitment to diversity and inclusion. Mayor Kufen, who will continue to serve as the mayor of Essen in 2025, highlighted the project's positive impact on the community.
