Triathletes Shine in Nordhausen Championship

After a festive break, the triathletes from Friedrichroda were back in action at the Nordhausen Triathlon, which served as the Thuringian Championship over the Olympic distance. The event, held last weekend, attracted some of the region's top athletes.

Carola Finke, a standout performer, impressed on the cycling course of the sprint distance triathlon. Despite her arms being heavy from swimming in Sundhausen's lake, she showcased her resilience and determination. The day before the sprint distance triathlon, Finke competed in a long-distance swimming event at the Alter-Bucht on the Hohenwarte Dam, where she finished second in her age group (AK 60).

Finke's hard work paid off as she won her age group in the sprint distance triathlon, narrowly missing the top 10 overall, finishing in 11th place. Her total time was 1:28:24.

Sven Droßmar, another notable athlete, displayed his strong cycling and running skills, securing a fourth overall placement. Droßmar also triumphed in his age group (AK 50), with a total time of 2:26:14.

Tino Volk, another competitor from Friedrichroda, also participated in the Nordhausen Triathlon. Volk finished third in his age group (AK55), with a total time of 2:38:30.
