Trial initiates for Sakha journalist Alexandrova
Yakut journalist Sasha Alexandrova, who previously left Russia in protest of the Special Military Operation (SVO), returned to her homeland this year without any issues, only to be detained upon arrival in Yakutsk.
According to reports by SakhaDay, Alexandrova was arrested in March by employees of the regional FSB department in Yakutsk. The reasons for her detention remain unspecified, but it is known that she has been charged with public calls for terrorist activities, justification of terrorism, or its propaganda.
This crime is classified as a threat to public safety, and Alexandrova has been added to the list of terrorists and extremists by the Federal Security Service (FSB).
Since her detention, Alexandrova has been in custody at the SIZO during the investigation. No further information about the circumstances of her detention or the specific charges against her has been made public.
Recently, on September 16, the Khabarovsk Regional Military Court began considering the criminal case against Alexandrova. The outcome of the court case and the details of her detention remain unknown at this time.
It is worth noting that prior to her detention, Alexandrova actively expressed her opposition to the SVO and its supporters in Telegram channels.
Alexandrova's case has sparked controversy and concern among journalists and human rights activists, who argue that her arrest and charges are an attempt to silence critical voices and suppress freedom of speech in Russia.
