Tri-State Area braces for thunderstorms after weekend weather shift

The Tri-State Area is bracing for thunderstorms after severe weather struck the Midwest on Friday. A shift in conditions will bring unsettled skies by Saturday evening, though clearer weather is forecast for Sunday.

No rain is expected during the day on Saturday, but temperatures will hover in the mid to upper 40s. By 9 p.m., a line of thunderstorms will move into the region. These storms may produce thunder and light rain overnight, continuing into the early hours of Sunday.

Rainfall totals from the showers and storms could reach between 0.25 and 0.5 inches. Skies will then clear by Sunday, with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 60s across many areas.

Warmer weather is set to follow next week. From Monday to Wednesday, highs may push into the 70s, particularly in inland parts of New Jersey.

The weekend will see a mix of stormy and clearer conditions. After Saturday's thunderstorms, Sunday brings drier skies and milder temperatures. The following week will then bring a noticeable warm-up, with highs potentially reaching the 70s in some areas.
