Traveladvisories issued by Romania following Israel's airstrikes on Iran, numerous flights suspended
Revised Article:
Listen up, buddy! Here's the skinny on the latest tussle between Israel and Iran.
Israel's air force laid a smackdown on Iran early Friday morning, bombing your guess what — nuclear installations. The attacks reportedly nailed the homes of military folk and nuclear scientists, too. Iran's top honcho, Ali Khamenei, vowed revenge for the attacks.
The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed a direct hit on a uranium facility in Natanz and is keeping a close eye on radiation levels, cuz, ya know, nuclear stuff tends to leak. And guess what? The Agency also called out Iran for breaking non-proliferation rules for the first time in two decades. That means Iran was this close to owning a nuclear weapon, but the US and them couldn't get their acts together in negotiations.
Now, here's where Romania comes in. The Foreign Ministry told Romanians in Israel to stick close to local authorities and let the Romanians in the country know where they're at. They're concerned about the big ol' mess over there, cuz the Israeli authorities have warned citizens to stay in bunkers due to the high risk of Iranian air strikes.
And if you were planning a trip to Iran? Forget about it, mate. The Foreign Ministry strongly advises against it. They say it's too risky, given the possibility of military action. If you're already in Iran, they recommend scramming, but do it right and follow updates from local and international authorities.
Owing to the chaos, several flights to Tel Aviv have been grounded. Flights like WizzAir 3257 and 3258, Fly Lili 9140, EL AL 573 and 574 have been canceled, not cool, bro. And Romania's national air carrier, Tarom, has put a hold on all commercial trips to and from Tel Aviv, Beirut, and Amman until at least June 16, 2025. Ouch!
Israel's airspace is closed until further notice, and civilian activities have been restricted since retaliatory strikes are expected.
In short, Romania says skip Iran, play it smart in Israel, and cancel your plans if you were going anywhere near that region for a while, it seems. Stay safe!
