Travel abroad request by Darshan in Renukaswamy murder case: Permission sought by actor Darshan for overseas travel amidst the ongoing Renukaswamy murder case

Kannada actor Darshan, currently out on bail, has sought permission from a Bengaluru trial court to travel to Dubai and Europe from June 1 to June 25 amid ongoing legal proceedings in the Renukaswamy murder case. The court's decision on the matter was initially expected on May 29 but has been officially reserved for May 30.

The actor is accused, along with his partner, Pavithra, and 15 others, of kidnapping and murdering Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga. Darshan recently filed a plea under Section 439(1)(b) of the Criminal Procedure Code to expand his bail conditions, allowing him to travel outside India.

The Special Public Prosecutor has vehemently opposed the petition, citing concerns that if Darshan is allowed to leave the country, he might not return, potentially disrupting the trial process. The Karnataka police have already challenged the bail granted to Darshan and others in the Supreme Court.

Since resuming filming for his upcoming movie 'Devil' following his release on bail, Darshan's movements have been restricted to Bengaluru. However, he has obtained court consent to travel within India. This latest plea seeks international travel permission.

Despite being required to appear before the court every month as part of his bail conditions, Darshan has faced criticism for skipping court proceedings earlier. He was later spotted attending a movie premiere alongside actor Chikkanna, a key witness in the case.

An additional charge sheet was submitted by the Karnataka police against Darshan and other accused on May 21, further escalating the legal battle.
