Excitement Builds for the Last Spot in Football District League A

The stage is set for a thrilling contest on Wednesday evening as FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen and GSV Moers II duke it out for the last open position in the Football District League A. After a 0:2 defeat in Moers, TuS Borth has bid farewell to their hopes, following a 3:5 (2:2) loss against Rumeln.

Both GSV Moers II and FCR are tied with three points each, but Rumeln holds the upper hand with a stronger goal difference. With three more goals scored, a draw would guarantee FCR's continued stay in the A league.

Rumeln Coach's Satisfaction

FCR coach Daniel Stöpke expressed satisfaction after the match, stating, "We had a slow start, but eventually, we deserved to win. We should have won by more; we were the better team, even when the score was 0:2." He added, "It will be tough against GSV, but we'll give it our all."

Back-and-Forth Tussle in Borth

The encounter, filled with goals and watched by 350 spectators, initially seemed Hanz-led for Borth, who took a 2:0 lead through two goals. However, Rumeln fought back with Siebert's (22', 36') goals, tying the game 2:2 before the break. Falk put Rumeln in the lead for the first time at 3:2, and despite Röll's equalizer (61'), Falk netted again at 4:3 (65'), with Seidel (73') securing the win for the visitors. Schulz of Borth received a red card for a last-man foul (86'), and Lorenz got a yellow-red card for repeated fouls (89'). Borth had already received three red cards during their 0:2 defeat in Moers a few days ago.

FCR II Heading to Kreisliga C

FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen II has become the fifth team to be demoted from the B league to the C league. Following their 0:1 (0:0) loss against SV Millingen II in the return game, after a 1:1 draw in the first leg, Paul Mertens scored the winning goal in the 80th minute.

The final game between GSV Moers II and FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen promises a nail-biting conclusion, with both teams determined to earn that coveted spot in the Football District League A for the 2025/26 season. Although FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen has the advantage, GSV Moers II will not go down without a fight.

The final European-leagues contest between FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen and GSV Moers II will determine the last entrant for the Premier League, as both teams are tied and a draw would favor Rumeln due to their superior goal difference.

With three more goals scored, FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen is currently in a stronger position, as a draw would secure their continued play in the football leagues' top tier next season. On the other hand, GSV Moers II will not back down and will fight relentlessly to claim their spot in the Premier League for the 2025/26 season.
