According to Olaf Rebbe, Holstein Kiel's sporting director, "Hamza's a tough and agile player, capable of adjusting his game in the heart of the midfield. He's got a truckload of energy, flaunts a sturdy defense, and has a knack for backend goals." He further expresses his delight about the German-Kosovar recruit, claiming he's set to gain practical experience with the U23 team.
Hamza Muqaj's journey kicked off at FC Carl Zeiss Jena in 2023, where he stepped up from the Youth ranks of Hertha 03 Zehlendorf's U19 lot to the Regionalliga squad's big leagues. In the 2024-2025 Regionalliga season, he showed up in 26 league matches, scoring three times and dishing out two assists. Muqaj's eye-catching displays even got him a slot with Kosovo's U21 national team back in March 2025.
