Although his sporting and personal value to us meant a tough decision, extensive discussions with him were had over the past few weeks. Proeger enjoyed 27 games in the 2. Bundesliga and 3 in the DFB-Pokal for the Jahn squad, scoring 2 goals. Speaking on his move to Osnabrück, the 33-year-old expressed: "Regensburg and SSV Jahn were great to me, and it's tough to walk away after relegation. However, I must admit that I crave being near my family and hunger for a fresh athletic challenge at a similarly vigorous level. I am indebted to SSV Jahn for accommodating my wishes and working out this mutual accord."
