Transfer of Jeremy Roy from "Vityaz" to CSKA has been confirmed
Score a Goal for CSKA! The mega-controversial Communist Sports Club of the Army (CSKA) has secured a major deal, securing 28-year-old Canadian defenseman Jeremy Roy from the struggling Vityaz Moscow region. This daring move comes as no surprise, considering CSKA's knack for snagging the best players in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Roy, a former Vityaz key player, has inked a two-year contract with CSKA after a successful debut season, leaving Vityaz in a tough spot. The club is currently grappling with financial issues and a KHL ban that prohibits them from registering new players.
In the 2024/2025 season, Roy notched a whopping 25 points (7 goals, 18 assists) in 60 games, solidifying his place as a reliable defender with offensive prowess. Throughout his KHL career, the Canadian has clocked 200 games with 88 points under his belt.
With Roy on board, CSKA's defensive lines are set to be even stronger for the upcoming season. The skilled Canadian defender, who proved his worth in his maiden KHL season, will now have the chance to compete for high stakes with one of the league's most powerful clubs.
