Alassane Plea, the French striker who has been a mainstay at Borussia Mönchengladbach for the past seven years, has bid farewell to the German club and joined Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.

Plea, who joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from French club OGC Nice for a record-breaking fee of 23 million euros in 2016, played a total of 236 competitive games for the club, scoring 68 goals and providing 53 assists. His outstanding performances and many important goals have earned him a place in the hearts of Borussia's fans.

Roland Virkus, Borussia's sporting director, expressed his gratitude for Plea's seven years with the club, saying, "We thank Lasso for seven years with Borussia, with outstanding performances and many important goals." Plea also expressed his gratitude, stating, "Grateful for seven wonderful years."

Plea's departure from Borussia Mönchengladbach marks the end of an era, but he is not leaving the football scene just yet. He is set to join PSV Eindhoven, where he will continue to wear the number 14 jersey, the same number he wore at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

PSV is paying around three to four million euros for Plea's transfer, according to various media reports. Plea's new contract with PSV Eindhoven is until June 30, 2028.

Plea is currently training with PSV Eindhoven's team in Marienfeld, where he is expected to replace Malik Tillman (to Bayer Leverkusen) and Johan Bakayoko (to RB Leipzig) in the squad.

Plea's original contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach was set to expire in June 2026, but it is not mentioned whether it was terminated early. Borussia Mönchengladbach will undoubtedly miss Plea's contributions on the pitch, but his departure also marks a new chapter in the club's history.

In his new chapter with PSV Eindhoven, Alassane Plea is not only joining a Dutch champion but also contributing to the community by supporting aid for the production of electricity from renewable sources. He will continue his football career, possibly playing in European leagues, fueled by energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar power.
