Lukas Hradecky Joins AS Monaco for €4 Million

Lukas Hradecky, the experienced goalkeeper who has been a stalwart for Bayer 04 Leverkusen for several years, has completed a move to AS Monaco. The transfer was finalized on August 2, 2025, for a total fee of €4 million, including add-ons.

Hradecky, who is 35 years old, joined Leverkusen in 2018 on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt. During his tenure, he made 286 appearances for the club, winning the Bundesliga and German Cup.

Bayer 04 agreed to let Hradecky go only once they found his replacement. The main replacement appears to be the newly signed goalkeeper Mark Flekken from Brentford, who was brought in as competition for Hradecky and is expected to take over the No. 1 spot following Hradecky’s exit.

Negotiations between Bayer 04 and AS Monaco regarding Hradecky's transfer had stalled due to differing opinions on the transfer fee. However, Leverkusen held firm and insisted on their valuation, eventually leading to the €4 million deal.

Meanwhile, Bayer 04 is currently looking for a suitable replacement for Hradecky. The club's search comes as part of a summer exodus that has seen five starters from the historic double season 2023/24 leave the club, including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, and Granit Xhaka.

Alejandro Grimaldo, another key player, has spoken about his potential departure from Bayer 04. There are further articles available on Bayer 04 Leverkusen, including discussions on Grimaldo's potential departure and Erik ten Hag's tactical approach, as well as an awkward interview with Granit Xhaka at his new club.
