Eintracht Braunschweig Bolsters Goalkeeping Department with Elhan Kastrati and Marko Rajkovacic
Eintracht Braunschweig has made two significant additions to their goalkeeping squad ahead of the new season. Marko Rajkovacic and Elhan Kastrati have joined the German club, with Kastrati arriving as a backup goalkeeper to Ron-Thorben Hoffmann.
Marko Rajkovacic, a 22-year-old Serbian goalkeeper, joined Eintracht Braunschweig from Swiss club FC Collina d'Oro this summer. Although he will be part of the professional team during the summer preparations, his role in the professional squad will mainly be in the U23 team. Rajkovacic's contract with Eintracht Braunschweig is until 2026.
Elhan Kastrati, a 28-year-old Albanian goalkeeper, joins Eintracht Braunschweig until 30 June 2027. Kastrati, who has three caps for the Albanian national team, brings with him extensive experience from Italy’s Serie B, where he made 168 appearances, and Albania’s top league, with 32 matches. Kastrati most recently played for AS Cittadella.
The club's sports director, Benjamin Kessel, highlighted Kastrati's sporting abilities, mental toughness, and ambition, emphasizing his enthusiasm for the role at Braunschweig. Kastrati will wear the number 13 jersey for Eintracht Braunschweig.
Eintracht Braunschweig has parted ways with Tino Casali, who will not receive a new contract, effective from the end of last season. Kastrati and Rajkovacic will form the goalkeeper team for Eintracht Braunschweig, with Kastrati joining just a few days before the season opener in Magdeburg.
Rajkovacic was initially planned for the training and match operations in the U23 team, but his performance during the summer preparations earned him a spot in the professional squad. The transfer of Kastrati was made official on Friday, August 8th, as Eintracht Braunschweig looks to complete their squad ahead of the new season.
Both Kastrati and Rajkovacic were signed for their experience, proven performances, and to strengthen Eintracht Braunschweig’s goalkeeping department in their campaign, reflecting both their quality and ambition to contribute to the team’s success.
