Newcomer Sesko Set to Make Manchester United Debut
Benjamin Sesko, the highly-anticipated new signing from RB Leipzig, is set to make his Manchester United debut in the coming days, potentially before the Premier League opener against Arsenal on Sunday.
Sesko, who joined United in a deal worth around €85 million ($98.8 million), including add-ons, on August 9, 2025, trained under Ruben Amorim in his first session with the club. The Slovenian international, who has already made 41 appearances for his national team and scored 16 goals, expressed his delight at wearing the Manchester United badge and his eagerness to represent the team well.
In his first training session, Sesko showed a willingness to get his head on the end of crosses and participated in a finish drill. He also expressed his excitement about the project at Manchester United and his eagerness to start.
The friendly match being considered by United brass to help Sesko gain more "real-world" training before the season begins is yet to be scheduled. However, it is expected that United will play a secret friendly ahead of the visit of the Gunners.
Sesko's signing was ahead of Premier League rivals Newcastle, who had also shown interest in the young striker. Arsenal had briefly considered Sesko before he joined United, but the striker has now set his sights on leading the line for Manchester United in their Premier League opener.
Sesko scored an impressive 27 goals and provided 7 assists in 64 appearances for Leipzig last season. Sesko also mentioned that he's already felt a sense of camaraderie within the team and that it feels like they will be a great family.
After his move to Manchester United, Sesko dined at San Carlo, an Italian restaurant, with his agent. With Sesko's debut on the horizon, United fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new striker.
