UpdatedScenario:

With a niggle in his right shoulder AC joint, QB ace Anthony Richardson seems set for a healthier spell at the Indianapolis Colts' training camp, according to NFL Network reports. The injury, which has kept him out of team practice this week, is a resurfaced issue from his 2023 surgery on the same shoulder.

Luckily, a second medical opinion has confirmed that another surgery won't be necessary, and the timetable for his recovery appears more promising than initially projected. Head coach Shane Steichen hinted at Richardson's return during a recent interview, saying, "He'll be back at some point during training camp."

While the exact date of his return remains uncertain, Richardson is expected to compete alongside former New York Giants starter Daniel Jones for Indy's starting quarterback spot this season. Though understandably frustrated, Richardson maintains a positive attitude, ready to conquer this minor setback.

Saddled with a 50.6 completion percentage, 11 touchdown passes, 10 rushing touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and 12 fumbles (four lost) over his first two seasons, Richardson's accuracy took a considerable hit in 2024, completing just 47.7 percent of his passes. His overall performance falls short compared to that of veteran competitor Daniel Jones, who's a career 64.1 percent passer with 70 touchdowns and 47 interceptions and has 15 rushing touchdowns over six seasons.
