Trains Back on the Rails Following Staudernheim Landslide with Detours

The replacement service for trains impacted by a landslide in Staudernheim, Bad Kreuznach, has commenced smoothly, as per Vlexx GmbH, the railroad company's spokesperson in Mainz. The landslide was reported about a week ago, necessitating safety work on a rock slope. Consequently, Deutsche Bahn Netz AG undertook essential infrastructure adjustments, affecting routes like the Saarbrücken-Frankfurt/Mainz connection.

As per Vlexx GmbH's statement on the weekend, the affected section will remain closed for work from November 20 to 24, between 8:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. daily. Passengers on the Vlexx RE 3 line from Frankfurt/Mainz to Saarbrücken will be redirected via Homburg or the Alsenztal valley. Those traveling on the RB 33 line between Staudernheim and Bad Kreuznach and the RB 34 line between Baumholder and Idar-Obsten should anticipate cancellations. Replacement bus services are provided by the railroad company.

Travelers are encouraged to consider alternative transportation options in the wake of the railroad line near Staudernheim's closure for safety work. These alternative methods could include buses or traffic-diverting services offered by the railroad company.

In the case of rail disruptions due to landslides or other reasons, Deutsche Bahn often shares the following:

  1. Affected Train Lines: Detailed information about the affected trains, either canceled or delayed.
  2. Alternative Transportation Options: Buses, replacement trains, or alternative modes of transportation to help passengers reach their destinations.
  3. Travel Advisories: Instructions for passengers on how to proceed with their journeys.
