"Train of Victory" to Unite under Locomotive, Traversing Krasnoyarsk Region

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, Krasnoyarsk Railways (KR) unveils a special "Train of Glory," featuring a legendary steam locomotive, moving exhibits, and themed carriages. Expect a grand event at each station along the route as this nostalgic train rolls through.

The Iron Warrior Rises Again

Leading the "Train of Glory" will be the restored steam locomotive L-3435. Originally designated P (for "Victory") until 1947, these powerful locomotives with a 2200 horsepower output were emblems of post-war recovery and were rightly symbolic of a resilient nation.

This engine made its triumphant return to Krasnoyarsk in 2025, following extensive repairs and test runs. Now, every resident of the region will have the opportunity to witness this iron titan in action and revel in the distinctive sound of its whistle.

Martial Valor on Display

The entire "Train of Glory" is a moving exhibition, comprised of the locomotive, six platforms, a heated carriage, a stage coach, and a carriage for volunteers and actors from the agitprop brigade.

The train will be adorned with special banners reading "For the Victory Day!" - similar to those that decorated wagons transporting troops back home from war-torn Europe in 1945.

For the first time, replicas of Soviet military equipment, symbols of Great Victory, such as tanks, guns, and anti-aircraft guns that participated in pivotal battles of WWII, will be displayed on the platforms.

A Citywide Celebration

Every station where the train stops will host a massive, citywide celebration. To recapture the joy and spirit of spring in 1945, artistic ensembles will embark on this historical journey, sharing the excitement with spectators.

Guests can expect a dramatic reenactment of the arrival of the "Train of Glory," a performance by the agitprop brigade, and unforgettable refreshments, including the famous mushroom and barley soup from wartime kitchens.

-Best of all, a hearty meal awaits the diligent!

A Journey Through Time

In addition to visiting military exhibits and learning about the history of the guns on display, railway workers will share insights about the role KR played in supporting the front with weapons, ammunition, raw materials, and agriculture products. After all, it was through relentless effort that goods were sent from the deepest reaches of Siberia westward, contributing to the common efforts that would lead to Victory.
