weekend travels in the north of Germany were disrupted due to the heavy snowfall in southern Germany and the subsequent flight cancellations at Munich Airport. Starting from 6 a.m. on Saturday, eight flights from Munich to Hamburg and nine flights from Hamburg to Munich were canceled. On Sunday, further flight cancellations were reported at Munich Airport.

Despite some planes scheduled for takeoff, Hamburg Airport's departure and arrival information indicated numerous flights to and from Munich had been canceled since Friday evening. The severe weather conditions in southern Germany caused major traffic disruptions since Saturday night, leading to a complete suspension of flights at Munich Airport on Saturday morning.

On Sunday morning, Munich Airport resumed operations, but around 560 out of 880 planned flights were still canceled due to the weather. Passengers were advised to check the status of their flights before departure.

The weather conditions also affected rail traffic, leading to massive restrictions until Monday. Munich Central Station was temporarily closed, and connections to Munich from Hamburg or Kiel were partially or fully canceled. Deutsche Bahn also urged passengers to check their trains before traveling.

As of February 19, 2025, there are no reported flight disruptions or cancellations at Munich Franz Joseph Strauss Airport. Various flights were scheduled to depart from Munich, including flights to Lisbon, Barcelona, Glasgow, Copenhagen, Toulouse, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Istanbul, Frankfurt, and Paris.

Regarding rail disruptions, it's important to note that there were no reported problems at Munich Airport specifically. However, major disruptions were expected on RER lines B and D, as well as Transilien lines H and K, in the Île-de-France region from February 14 to 17 and from February 21 to 24, 2025.

Passengers planning to travel from Hamburg to Munich should monitor their flight status, as cancellations were still expected due to the ongoing weather conditions at Munich Airport. Travelers planning to visit Munich from Hamburg or Kiel should also be aware of potential rail disruptions.
