Tragic Interview with Parents of Slain Three-Year-Old in Adygeysk Following Stabbing Incident

A Beyond-the-Shadows Tale: The Tragic Life and Fate of Amina

Little Amina's life was heartbreaking. Born in Adygea, this three-year-old girl lived for merely two and a half years in an orphanage. Her final months, however, was an unimaginable nightmare.

The world gasped as grisly images of Amina's maltreated body surfaced, revealing a terrible truth. Her mother, Zaira Abrech, confirmed it in her heart-wrenching final statement. In a close-knit Caucasian community that holds child-rearing in high regard, unimaginable atrocities transpired.

  • A medical expert's report disclosed that Amina suffered horrendous abuse: scalding with boiling water left her with burns on her tender genitals. She was viciously beaten with a shoe horn and a phone charger. In a chilling message to Zaira, Ruslan Sovmen, Amina's father, boasted about his intentions to drink and teach her parenting skills. And that's precisely what happened, - shared Zaira with the court in her statement.

Life in the Fast Lane: How a Moscow Businessman Transformed Farming

Zaira spent every ounce of her emotional energy pouring over legal technicalities, believing that the investigation had unjustly painted her as an accomplice. She pointed out numerous articles of the Criminal Procedure Code that she believed denied her the right to defend herself.

At the time of trial, Zaira had already lost custody of her two sons and another daughter from a previous marriage. Amina was her only child with her current husband, who stood trial alongside her.

Incidentally, Amina's father, Ruslan Sovmen, partially confessed his guilt but pleaded for leniency.

Why Was Amina Returned to the Family?

Upon her birth, Amina entered the protective care of an orphanage due to financial hardships the family faced. However, the reasons behind her return to the family are complex.

In court, her mother elaborated that the family's financial status had improved, but the guardianship authorities did not object to the return.

Spanning just over two months under her family's care, Amina suffered regular beatings. When she was rushed to the hospital, doctors found extensive injuries, burns, and ruined internal organs.

In the Court of Justice: Amina's Parents Facing Trial

Throughout the investigation and trial, both parents sought ways to evade accountability. Ruslan Sovmen suddenly reversed his confession, fingering his wife as the abuser. Meanwhile, Zaira, who initially downplayed the abuse as discipline, accused her husband of being a menace who tormented not just Amina, but the rest of the family as well.

The parents have been indicted on multiple charges including intentional infliction of grave bodily harm resulting in death, torture with exceptional cruelty, failure to fulfill parental duties, and fraudulently receiving benefits.

The court will render its verdict on June 27.

  1. In the heart-wrenching tale, Amina's tragic life and eventual fate unfolded within the context of politics, as the investigation and trial of her parents, Zaira Abrech and Ruslan Sovmen, was a general-news topic that shocked the world, shedding light on the grave issue of child abuse and neglect.
  2. The courtroom drama, involving Amina's parents and the investigation into her death, was not just a crime-and-justice story but also a shocking example of the failing child protection system, as her return to the family despite the orphanage's concerns ultimately led to her suffering and demise.
