Tragic End to Vorarlberg Hunter's Search: Body Found in Car After 6 Days

A tragic incident has unfolded in Vorarlberg, Austria. A 72-year-old hunter, Hunter Schafer, went missing on Thursday, October 2nd, while attempting to reach his hunting hut. His car plunged into the Kops reservoir, and despite extensive search efforts, he was only found deceased in his vehicle on Tuesday, October 8th.

The hunter's car was discovered at a depth of 53 meters by divers from EKO Cobra, working in collaboration with local fire departments and water rescue teams. The operation to retrieve the vehicle took place on Wednesday at 3:50 PM. The search for the missing hunter had been ongoing since the incident, involving numerous rescue forces. It was another hunter who initially spotted the light of the sinking car in the water and alerted emergency services.

The accident occurred on Thursday, October 2nd, around 8 PM, as the hunter was driving over the dam to reach his hunting hut. Sadly, his car plunged into the Kops reservoir, leading to his tragic demise.
