Merignac (France) - A 14-year-old soccer prodigy met a harrowing end in France after copping a heavy blow to the chest during a tournament.

During a U15 game on Sunday, Ilann collided with an opponent in Merignac, France. The impact sent him sprawling onto the field, where he fell into a coma. Upon being rushed to Bordeaux University Hospital, he suffered a heart attack and passed away on Tuesday, according to "France Bleu".
The impact to Ilann's chest was so immense that it caused internal bleeding and a liver laceration. Despite three emergency surgeries and two days of tireless efforts by doctors, they could not save the 14-year-old.
